reminiscent of the tom hanks and meg ryan hangouts in the romantic comedies from the 1990's, the wellington square bookstore has all the charm and all the books you could ever want! i discovered this shop a few years ago. located off the beaten path, it is set back behind rte 100 in exton pa. as a moderate reader, i instantly became inspired to be an avid reader! their carefully curated collection consist of new and used books, local authors, plenty of new york times bestsellers and pulitzer prize winners.

wellington host an array of events from signings, readings and book clubs. it's a wonderful destination for a date or some much needed time alone. if you want to do a bit of shopping, look no further. educational toys, book accessories, and candles are some of the merchandise they offer. you really can put together a special gift for just about anyone!

there is an adorable and adult friendly children's section, complete with comfy poufs. i often prefer this section, especially on rainy or forlorn days! (i'm not the only one, believe me. i spotted a grown women there, deeply engrossed in an "i spy" book)

when you decide its time to grow up or you find the eyes of perplexed, judgmental children scanning you, there is a lovely library and seating area.

you can see the quality, care and attention to detail that has gone into the interior. no corner has been neglected. the show pieces are the ladders that run across the bookshelves, they are definitely a wave to yesteryear. the ladders are indeed the perfect punctuation to the love poem the owners have given, by way of their shop, to book lovers and lovers of old world charm,

after you have relaxed and settled in, you may find the need for a snack or refreshment. in my case caffeine! wellington has an in house coffee shop! what could be more perfect you say? i agree wholeheartedly!

they serve local roaster hobo ed's coffee and an assortment of teas, scones and cookies. there are cold beverage options as well. the counter is a great place to sit and chat with the eager to please and happy to converse with you employees. if you would like to go back to reading or pretending to read, the lovely victorian sofa and chairs by the window are the perfect place to curl up

i hope you have enjoyed the mini tour through wellington square bookstore. perhaps, if you are able

go and take a look see. you never know the adventures that await you in a bookstore! i have a small confession; i often buy books because i like the covers and you know what.... it works for me.
